My Story

With over 20 years’ experience spanning manufacturing, retail, transport, construction, and service sectors, I’ve worn many hats: Finance Director, Operational Lead, Process Improver, and Problem Solver. I set up Lock & Ledger to help ambitious businesses get the financial clarity, strategic insight, and operational rigour they need to scale without the overheads of a full-time FD.

I started my journey through self-study, working my way up through AAT and ACCA in record time, driven by a genuine curiosity about how businesses work. Along the way, I’ve led finance teams, implemented full control frameworks from scratch, delivered profitable turnarounds, and helped businesses prepare for investment and growth. I’ve worked shoulder-to-shoulder with founders, MDs and senior teams to translate complex numbers into simple, practical decisions that drive results.

What sets me apart? I don't just look at the numbers. I dive into how a business operates, where it's losing margin, how teams work together, and what levers will unlock sustainable growth. I’m commercially minded, people-focused, and grounded in real-world experience. Whether it’s optimising a cashflow forecast, designing performance dashboards in Power BI, or creating scalable systems that reduce stress and save time. I’m here to make your finance function work for the business, not just report on it.

When I’m not helping clients improve profit or processes, you’ll find me in the gym, reading up on something new (yes, I’m a bit of a lifelong learner), or working on ways to make finance more accessible and useful for business owners.
